Advantages and Disadvantages of Pitot Tube Flow Meter

Product Advantages:

IInsertion structure allows for installation and maintenance under pressure without stopping air flow, reducing construction costs; Can be used for DN40~600, covering a wide range of pipe diameters, allowing for ample inventory compression; Strong resistance to vibrations and electromagnetic interference; Wide measuring range, with a minimum limit of 5 Nm/s and a 1:60 turndown ratio; Almost no pressure loss, promoting energy efficiency.

Product Disadvantages:
Pressure tap is prone to blockages; Multiple diameter usage with center-point measurement requires accurate mathematical flow models; Zero-point and linearity of differential pressure sensors will experience thermal drift and time drift with changing ambient conditions.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Insert Thermal Mass Flow Meter

Product Advantages:

The plug-in structure can be installed and maintained under pressure without stopping the gas flow, and the construction cost is low. The plug-in installation does not require pipe cutting and docking, and the complete straight pipe section can be retained. It is universal for all pipe diameters in the range of DN25~600, which greatly reduces inventory. It is not afraid of vibration and electromagnetic interference. The measuring range is the widest among all flow meters, with a lower limit of up to 0.1 Nm/s and a turndown ratio of 1:2500. There is almost no pressure loss, which is beneficial to energy saving.

Product Disadvantages:
Afraid of contamination and condensation; universality for multiple pipe diameters plus center point measurement requires an accurate flow mathematical model; the thermal measurement principle is highly nonlinear and requires an accurate calibration algorithm; the traditional thermal flow meter circuit will produce zero-point drift under different operating temperatures.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Vortex Flow Meter

Product Advantages:

It has the strongest anti-pollution ability among the three flow meters and is suitable for harsh working conditions; it is not affected by gas type and gas composition, and the measurement is stable and reliable; it has good linearity and is relatively easy to calibrate and produce; it is the best choice for steam measurement: it has the smallest pressure loss, a wider measurement range than the orifice flow meter, and higher accuracy.

Product Disadvantages:
It has weak resistance to vibration and electromagnetic interference. It has the narrowest turndown ratio and is prone to miss measurements at low flow rates. It needs to stop the gas flow and cut the pipe for installation, which has high construction costs and troublesome maintenance. Since it needs to cut the pipe for docking, centering errors or inconsistent pipe diameters will damage the straight pipe section and cause measurement errors. It has the largest pressure loss among the three flow meters.
